Our Story

My husband Rob, a physical therapist, and I, a home schooling mom, were happy living in the mountains of North West Montana with our four boys, Robby 14, Benjamin 13, Christopher 11, and Jacob 8. We enjoyed the cold winter snows and all the activities that go along with it. So why did we move to the island of Guam last August? In two words..... God's Will.

Rob and I had been earnestly seeking to do God's work. We were actively involved in our church, yet we knew God was asking something different of us. After praying and searching we realized He was asking Rob to go to the Guam Seventh-day Adventist Clinic (WellnessCenter) to be the director of physical therapy and for me to raise the boys in Guam. I didn't want to go! I was angry; angry at God.

In Montana I had a good life~a beautiful home in the mountains, one of the best friends I have ever had, and a loving church family. "Why me Lord? Can't someone else go and fill the position you want Rob to fill? I don't want to start over again thousands of miles from family and friends. I want to raise my boys in a quiet town of 2,000 residents, not a 30 x 8 mile island with 175,000 people. I want to do Your will Lord, but not this!"

It was one year after these thoughts of mine that we were in the process of filling out the paper work to go to Guam. I had surrendered my heart to God. Oh, what peace I had resting in the assurance that God indeed does know what is best. That "all things" really do work together for good as long as I choose to remain in His will.
