Associate Secretary | Hensley Moorooven
Hensley Moorooven came to this position after serving as the Associate Executive Secretary of the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division [SID] headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa.
He served as the Sabbath School, Personal Ministries and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Director of that same division from 2005 to 2010. Before joining the SID in 2005, he was the Executive Secretary of the Indian Ocean Union based in Antananarivo, Madagascar. He started his pastoral ministry in Réunion Conference in 1996 where he served as the Conference Youth, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director. He was ordained to the Pastoral Ministry in June 2001.
Hensley is a teacher at heart who enjoys sharing the word of God in a clear and simple way. His objective is to teach/preach for people to remember.
A native of Mauritius, he is happily married to Valérie – a trained social worker and primary school teacher who hails from Réunion Island – and they have two girls, Tania and Amandine.
Hensley has a BA in Theology from the Adventist University of Central Africa (Rwanda) and a Master in Leadership from the Adventist University of Africa (Kenya). His long-term goal is to obtain a PhD in Leadership.
