Around the world, there are countries where the Seventh-day Adventist Church cannot openly establish worship communities. Yet thousands of young people gather on university campuses—places rich with ideas, culture, and opportunity for meaningful friendship. 

Waldensian Students step into these environments as full-time university students, bringing with them what no law can restrict: 
kindness, curiosity, integrity, and the quiet influence of a Christ-shaped life. 

They do not go to preach or debate. 
They go to learn, to study, to live alongside others, and to reflect God’s love through everyday interactions. 

This simple but courageous ministry opens doors that might otherwise remain closed. 

What Is a Waldensian Student? 

A Waldensian Student is a young adult who: 

• Enrolls as a university student in a country where the Adventist Church cannot easily operate. 

• Forms natural friendships with fellow students—often across cultures, worldviews, and languages. 

• Lives out their faith through character, compassion, and consistent presence. 

• Contributes positively to campus life through scholarship, service, and community involvement. 

The name draws inspiration from the historic Waldensians—believers known not for dramatic speeches but for quiet, steady faithfulness. 
Modern Waldensian Students follow that legacy through thoughtful, relational, campus-based ministry. 

Why Their Role Matters 

In places where formal mission activity is limited or restricted, the most meaningful witness often comes from one life touching another. 

Waldensian Students provide value by: 

• Being a positive, trustworthy presence in communities unfamiliar with Christianity

They are supported by a small stipend that covers basic living and academic expenses, allowing them to focus on relationships and studies.
