Ingrid lives in a small house on a dirt road in a city in northern Peru. Some of her earliest memories are of going with her mother to people’s homes to study the Bible. Ingrid sat quietly and listened to how her mother explained God’s Word to people. Ingrid knew that one day she wanted to lead someone to Jesus. She hoped it would be her papa.
Clarita is 8 years old. She lives in a city in the beautiful hills of eastern Peru. It’s hot and humid most of the year where Clarita lives. Farmers grow rice and oranges and bananas and lots of other foods we love to eat.
Beatriz lives with her mother outside the big city of Lima, Peru. Beatriz loves to go to Sabbath School and church with her family. She especially enjoys learning new songs and stories from the Bible.
Today is Thirteenth Sabbath. Today we give a special offering to help the people in Madagascar, Namibia, and South Africa share God’s love through several specific projects.

In 1905 W. H. Anderson and his wife traveled to Zambia in a wagon pulled by sturdy oxen. After long days of bouncing over bumpy, dusty roads in the wagon, the Andersons arrived at the land the local chief had given to the Adventist Church on which to start a school.
This quarter our focus will be on the South American Division, which includes the countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay, and adjacent islands. About 315 million people live in these countries, and more than 2 million are Seventh-day Adventists. That means that about one person out of about 150 is an Adventist.
Charlotte lives with her uncle in a small town in northern Namibia. Her family sometimes goes to church, but Charlotte knew almost nothing about Jesus or why she should love and worship Him.
Lucia is the youngest of several children. Her parents work in their small shop in a Himba village several hours away. They can’t come home every day, so Lucia’s oldest sister takes care of the family.
Kina is 6 years old. She lives with her mom and dad and younger brothers in a town called Opuwo [oh-POO-who], in Namibia.
Northwestern Namibia gets a little rain, and a few trees and shrubs can grow there, but still it is very dry. This is the land of the Himba people.
Nokwanda sings her favorite song as she sweeps the floor in her granny’s little house. Nokwanda is 8 years old and in the second grade. She and her cousin live with Granny. They keep the little home clean and neat, and her cousin helps Granny prepare meals, too.
