In the late 1980s, there were almost no Seventh-day Adventists on the island of Zanzibar, Tanzania. It all started when Jesse's mother got sick and visited a small Adventist clinic. Touched by the kindness of the doctor and nurses, she asked them to let her 13-year-old daughter volunteer there after school. What no one expected was that this decision would change Jesse's life forever — and shape the spiritual history of an entire island.
