“The Desert Taught Me How”

USA

An inspiring and original song performed by collaborators from around the world! By Juan R. Salazar L.

.

Everything seems hopeless

The fear has overcome me.

I'm drowning in the midst of the storm.

Far gone is the sunlight, the poetry and laughter,

hostile is the desert but somehow I'm not alone.

Lord, I have learned throughout the storm

How to hide myself in you

and the desert taught me how to depend on you.

Thorns won't take away, take away my joy

and through the night I'll hold your hand

knowing you will guide me to your love.

My heart is filled with sadness, tears have blinded my sight,

I wish I had the strength to be strong.

Suddenly the night comes, I'm about to give up.

There is when you showed me in the darkness you're the stars.

Lord, I have learned throughout the storm

how to hide myself in you

and the desert taught me how to depend on you.

Thorns won’t take away, take away my joy

and throughout the night I’ll hold your hand,

knowing you will guide me to your love

Lord, you showed me there's a blessing in the storm

through the desert I grew stronger than before.

With you I will rise above the pain and thorns;

A new day is coming after all.

Lord, I have learned throughout the storm

how to hide myself in you

and the desert taught me how to depend on you.

Thorns won’t take away,

take away my joy, and through the

night I’ll hold your hand, all the fear is gone.

I will follow you, I know you will guide me to your love.
