Today, new pioneers like Taguhi and Aghvan continue this work in unreached areas, large cities, and post‑Christian communities.
A Touch That Transforms
In Brazil, two women—Fabiola facing cancer and Luisa battling betrayal, depression, and loss—found hope when their dogs accidentally switched their TVs to Novo Tempo, Hope Channel Brazil. The messages they heard transformed their outlook, brought emotional and spiritual healing, and led them back to Jesus. Two Dreams
In Spain and Germany, Dante Herrmann went from drug dealing and a pact with the devil to becoming a Seventh‑day Adventist pastor. Through prayer backstage, Christ‑centered design themes, and her work at the Bryant Park Life Hope Center, she blends creativity with mission—showing how every believer can become a center of influence for God.
The Davis’ Indians - Part 1
Ovid Elbert Davis, an early Adventist missionary, traveled nearly 40 days through rivers and dense forest in British Guiana after interior tribes—guided by a “shining being”—requested someone with a “black book” to teach them about God. His work established new mission bases, baptized 187 believers, and planted churches among previously unreached peoples.
The Davis’ Indians - Part 2
After Ovid Elbert Davis died of blackwater fever in 1911 at Mt. Roraima, the Indigenous believers he had taught in British Guiana continued meeting every Sabbath at his grave, singing the hymn he taught them and pleading for another teacher. Fourteen years later, missionaries finally returned, finding more than 130 people still faithful to the commitment Davis recorded before his death. Today, his legacy lives on through the Davis Memorial Hospital in Georgetown and the thriving Adventist communities that grew from his early work.

In Denmark, Adventist church planters Rob and Bethany draw from lessons learned in Squamish, British Columbia, where relational ministry helped a skeptical former Adventist rediscover Jesus through friendship, listening, and shared life. Now in Copenhagen, they continue using the BLESS model—prayer, listening, eating together, serving, and sharing—to build authentic community and introduce neighbors to Christ in one of Europe’s most secular cities.
Begun in a Bar
In Kenya, Global Mission pioneer Leenus began a new Adventist congregation in a former bar—an unlikely setting that villagers initially rejected. After registering 360 people for Bible studies, baptizing 15, and planting a new church where no Adventist presence existed, Leenus watched God transform skepticism into growth. Today, a new church building stands as a testimony to God’s power and the perseverance of mission work in unreached communities.
