Koffi's Transformation

Picture Story

Brazil

Arturo had been suffering from an injury for 16 years. His granddaughter was also dealing with a serious health issue. Moved by their situation, the couple promised to return the next day with medicine.

From a young age, Koffi* was deeply involved and highly skilled in spiritual rituals. This was not unusual for someone living in a city in northern Ivory Coast. Residents in the community practiced similar traditions.

But one day, everything changed. His vision became blurry, making it impossible for him to work. He began spending his days in small bars, drinking with other young men. That’s where a Global Mission pioneer met him.

The pioneer started discussing health and explained the effects of alcohol and cigarettes. Then, he spoke about Jesus. Koffi was captivated and listened intently. He told the pioneer he wanted to learn more.

As they studied together, Koffi grew in his understanding but started experiencing spiritual attacks at night. Troubled, he confided in the pioneer. The pioneer assured him that Jesus was stronger than any demonic force. Together, they prayed fervently for God's protection.

At last, the attacks stopped, and Koffi felt peace. Encouraged by the pioneer, he decided to give his life to Jesus. A few months later, not only Koffi was baptized, but also his wife as well!

Please continue supporting Global Mission pioneers as they mingle with individuals from various walks of life and bid them to follow Jesus.

In a closed Middle Eastern country, church planter Jake began a monthly prayer journey—asking God for opportunities to give Bible studies. Within weeks, he met Omar, a secret believer for 15 years longing for baptism, and Wassim, a returning refugee who had found Christ online. Both eagerly joined Jake’s house church and began studying Scripture. Their stories reveal how God prepares seekers long before missionaries meet them.

    Return of the Pioneer

A Global Mission pioneer once entered a city with no Adventist presence and no welcome—yet years later, that same city now has a thriving church, a respected school, and four “baby churches.” This story traces how pioneers persevered through rejection, moved from town to town, and watched small groups grow into multiplying congregations across the region. Today, new pioneers like Taguhi and Aghvan continue this work in unreached areas, large cities, and post‑Christian communities.
