Uganda: Can Any Good Come Out of This?

Picture Story

Many people he interacted with believed that Adventism was a false religion. Those who seemed interested often didn't stay around long. Also, his mission partner, who knew the local language, abandoned him.

Ongeira, a Global Mission pioneer in Arua, Uganda, faced numerous challenges. Many people he interacted with believed that Adventism was a false religion. Those who seemed interested often didn't stay around long. Also, his mission partner, who knew the local language, abandoned him. Ongeira became discouraged and doubted whether anything good could come from his experience.

Just when he was ready to give up, Ongeira met a man who had many questions about the Adventist message. Ongeira patiently explained his faith and started studying its teachings with him. To the man's surprise, he found them faithful to the Bible and eventually accepted Christ. Soon, he assisted Ongeira in spreading the message and addressing skeptics' doubts. With his help, the community’s attitude toward Ongeira improved. What seemed impossible became hopeful.

Your prayers and financial gifts help pioneers persevere amid difficult challenges in spreading the gospel. Thank you for contributing to the work of Global Mission pioneers such as Ongeira.
